Borras Park, Wrexham

Wrexham has grown up as a regional market, industrial and shopping centre and is well placed for access to Chester (20 minutes), Manchester and Liverpool (both an hour) as well as the beautiful Clwydian hills to the west. The town is the largest in North Wales, having a population in the County Borough of over 120,000.

The church itself is situated in a residential area at the edge of Acton Park, one of the largest public parks in Wrexham. The church was founded in 1971 by a group concerned at the lack of evangelical witness in the area and the present building dates from 1976. There are currently some 60 members from a variety of backgrounds and ages.

Our Outlook

The church is evangelical and evangelistic and our aim is to make disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 18 v20) and to encourage believers to witness and grow in the Faith. We do not make denominational distinctions a bar to communion and welcome to the Lord's Table all who are true believers.

The church is independent of any denominational grouping but enjoys fellowship with many like-minded groups locally and nationally. These include the Associating Evangelical Churches of Wales, the Evangelical Movement of Wales and Affinity (formally the British Evangelical Council).

Organisation

The church is governed by elders, one of whom is supported by the church as a full-time pastor. Deacons are appointed to handle the administrative affairs of the fellowship.
